Bower Woods
Bower woods re-wilding woodland
We are guardians of Bower Woods, a private 26 acre rewilding woodland a 30 minute hike away from Holyford on footpaths and small lanes. The woods face the beautiful and tranquil valley of Southleigh and are great for sunsets.
As our guests we are happy for you to explore these woods, make dens and look for badgers and deer.
Our friend Chris Holland regularly runs forest school sessions in these woods.
Bower woods was an ancient woodland that was replanted as conifer plantation 50 years ago. For the last 25 years the pines have been being slowly removed and the woods allowed to regerate naturally, to return to native broadleaf tree species and all the varied and threatened wildlife that this supports.
